German pair lead 505 Europeans

Three races have now been completed at the 505 European Championship in Mondello, Italy. Jens Findel and Johannes Tellen of Germany remain in first place with Ethan Bixby and Erik Boothe from the USA second and Ian Pinnell and Carl Gibbon of Britain third.

On the second day the wind of 8-10 knots allowed the two scheduled races to be completed. The first with two false starts and was a race where the European champions, the Danish brothers Jacob and Jorgen Moller Bojsen, won with yesterday's winners Findel and Tellen, finished second with the American's Bixby and Boothe third.

The American pair Bixby and Boothe gained revenge in the second race of the day, winning in front of German's Michael Daisenberger and Florian Lautenschlager, with the German pair Findel and Tellen third, to maintain their lead in the general classification.

The European Championship continues thru Thursday. The World Championship will start Saturday 11 October.
